There are many interpreters around – at least for English and German – so what’s the difference, why take me? Well, for one thing I have a university degree from one of the best interpreting schools in the world, Geneva’s École de Traduction et d’Interprétation, where we were trained to offer highly professional services. I also have an academic career outside interpreting which has provided me with a profound knowledge of classical culture and modern civilization.
Having grown up in Berlin with a British-German background and having lived, studied or taught in Greece, Italy, Switzerland and France I know the cultural differences well and can adapt to them easily. I speak Italian and French fluently which has often come in handy even when officially working with my other languages.
I find free-lance interpreting particularly stimulating because of the wide range of subjects to be covered. Each new assignment is a challenge – and a way of treating myself to more knowledge.
So the real reason why you will enjoy working with me is that I will be enjoying the job!
